Water Conservation Programs in San Diego

The ECOLIFE Foundation has always been active in water and watershed conservation in Southern California.  Thousands of school kids have visited and worked in watersheds thanks to our Watershed Stewards program and thousands of others have been educated in classrooms.  But with the water crisis at hand in our community we needed to step up in practical measurable ways to help our community.

The Walking 4 Water 5 K walk in October at Mission Bay in San Diego was a fun, practical and educational day that brought together the entire community.

Most of the proceeds from this event will be spent right here at home in collaborations with the Water Conservation Garden, San Diego Habitat for Humanity and Interfaith Community Services.

In each case the ECOLIFE Foundation will provide 1,100 gallon rain water collection systems to teach people about the value of our meager rain – rain which our communities simply discount and waste.

Another portion of our funds will go to our program in Uganda to provide clean water for schoolchildren.
